    Tour boats at Niagara Falls shows difference between U.S., Canadian approach to COVID-19

    These Images of the boats from the US and Canada Niagara fall cruising past each has caused the discussion to swell on social media, with many suggesting the stark contrast in passengers is symbolic of the difference in the Canadian and American approaches to COVID-19.

    At the famous waterfalls on the U.S.-Canadian border, Canadian ferries are limited to just six passengers per boat, out of a 700-person capacity. But on the U.S. side, the ferries are operating at 50 percent capacity, according to Maid of the Mist boat tours.

    “We actually took a picture of the [American] boat,” said Julie Pronovost, visiting from Quebec with her family on Tuesday. “I don’t find that it’s very safe to be on a boat like that. It’s much better here.”

    Tourists at the falls on Tuesday said they felt much safer with the six-person per boat limit.

    “I’m glad I’m in Canada,” said Amanda Barnes of Brampton, Ont. “You can see why the pandemic is raging in the United States and not in Canada when you look at the difference between the boats.”

    With newly renovated floor-to-ceiling glass and the first of its kind in North America EdgeWalk are the most enthralling attractions. The EdgeWalk is highest full circle hands-free walk on 1.5 m wide ledge 1168 ft above the ground encircling the pod on the top of the tower and runs for approximately 1.5 hours with 30 minutes for outdoor walking.

    The EdgeWalk operates in all weather except for high winds, electrical storms, or other extreme weather conditions.

    Canada’s Wonderland, located 30 kilometers northwest of Toronto’s city center, is a big theme park which is open during the summer months.     MarineLand, one of Ontario’s most popular summertime attractions, is located near Niagara Falls. The main highlights are the marine shows featuring killer whales, dolphins, walruses, and sea lions as well as other aquatic life and land mammals. The amusement park also contains all kinds of rides, including its signature Sky Screamer which is famous as being the “world’s highest triple tower ride,” before dropping passengers back down again, it propels passengers up more than 137 meters.

    The National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa is home to several country’s most important collections. It features genres of works by Canadian artists, from the Group of Seven to Emily Carr, several other prominent personages and well-known international artists. The National Gallery building is an ultra-modern architectural masterpiece designed by Moshe Safdie.

    A full renovation of the main observation level is currently underway and is expected to be completed by mid-June 2018.  This renovation will bring more panoramic views, new food & beverage offerings and more.
